Privacy policy

What we collect

GetMyPG is designed to be useful without requiring an account. By default, we collect very little:

• Browser & usage analytics - anonymised page views, device type, approximate location (city level), and interaction events, via Microsoft Clarity. These help us understand which listings and pages renters find useful.
• Server logs - your IP address, request URL, and timestamp are stored in temporary server logs for debugging and abuse prevention. Logs are rotated within 30 days.
• Bookmarks - saved PGs are stored locally in your browser's localStorage. They never reach our servers.

What we do not collect

• We do not require an email or phone number to search, view listings, or contact owners.
• We do not sell your data to third parties.
• We do not place advertising trackers from ad networks.

Cookies & local storage

We use cookies only for essential session management (e.g., admin login). We use localStorage to remember your bookmarks. You can clear both at any time from your browser settings.

Microsoft Clarity

We use Microsoft Clarity for product analytics. Clarity records anonymised session replays and heatmaps so we can see how the site is used and fix usability issues. Clarity does not collect personally identifying information unless you type it into a form. You can read Microsoft's privacy statement to learn more.

Geolocation

The "Search near me" feature uses your browser's geolocation API and only when you click the button to grant permission. Your coordinates are used in-memory to compute distances to nearby PGs and are not stored on our servers.

Communicating with PG owners

When you call or WhatsApp a PG owner via a listing, you are communicating directly with that owner. GetMyPG does not record, route, or store the contents of those conversations.

Children's privacy

GetMyPG is intended for adults aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Under Indian data protection law, you have the right to access, correct, and request deletion of any personal data we hold about you. Since we hold almost nothing, most requests can be handled simply by clearing your browser storage. For server-side requests, please email us via the contact page.

Security

We use HTTPS for all traffic and keep our server software up-to-date. No system is perfectly secure - please report any security concerns immediately via our contact page.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. If we make material changes that affect how your data is handled, we will note them on the home page banner for at least 14 days.
